How do i book a session?

What is a retainer fee?

A retainer fee is a non-refundable payment made towards the total cost of your photography session. This retainer effectively reserves your date and time; unless stated otherwise, your first payment towards your invoice serves as your non-refundable retainer.


What forms of payment do you accept?

Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Discover, Venmo, PayPal, and Apple Pay!

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Outside of the non-refundable retainer that is due in order to book and hold your session date, we can structure your final payments incrementally. Please keep in mind that the full balance must be paid one week prior to the start of the session - this means that last minute bookings may not have enough time to spread payments out. There are no additional fees associated with clients who choose to spread their payments out versus payment in full.

how will i get my photos?

Photos will be delivered via a digital gallery that provides high resolution downloads and a shop option for printing photo products.

when will i get my photos?

Smaller sessions are typically delivered within 4 weeks; larger events and weddings/elopements are typically delivered within 6-8 weeks. Delivery dates are specifically outlined in each contract, so no mystery there!


What is a gallery upgrade and how much does it cost?

Gallery upgrades are available on most session packages for clients who wish to purchase their full gallery of edited images (instead of the advertised package limit). Upon gallery delivery, clients who wish to upgrade will notify Sugar Lens Studio, an invoice for the full gallery will be issued, and all applicable photos will be made available for download with watermarks removed once the invoice has been paid. The cost of upgrading a gallery is dependent upon size - i.e. the longer the session, the bigger the gallery! Clients will receive a quote for the full gallery upgrade upon initial delivery of their gallery.

What if i need to reschedule my session?

Life happens! We will work together to reschedule your session ASAP. I kindly ask all clients to give at least 48 hours with rescheduling sessions.

I’m new here, how do i pick a location?

Don’t worry, I’ve got your back! If you know the general vibe of the photos you want, I have scouted multiple locations for you!

What if there’s bad weather?

Florida, am I right?! During our “rainy” season, clients will pick a second date/time should the first option get rained out. Please note, Sugar Lens Studio has a strict lightning policy and does not shoot outdoors when storms/lightning are present.

How do I figure out what to wear?

Wardrobe planning can certainly be a lot of work! Sugar Lens Studio offers pre-session styling guides; you will receive a custom styling guide after our consult complete with recommendations on clothing pieces, patterns, colors, accessories, etc. As a general rule of thumb, it is recommended that clients wear clothes that are comfortable and aligned with their personal style/taste. Try to avoid loud, distracting patterns and logos.

Do you travel?

Yep! Local sessions (within 15) miles of the Tallahassee and Tampa Bay Areas are covered in the cost of the session, travel fees apply to all locations outside of this range and are determined on a case-by-case basis.
